Albert Hall is a small family owned 36 place centre which has been operating at Freshwater on Sydney’s beautiful Northern Beaches since 1999.
Our aim is to provide an extension of the home for the children and their families whilst delivering the highest quality educational outcomes.
We are very proud to have been entrusted with the care and education of whole families of siblings, even seeing the return of past students on work experience.
Albert Hall has strong social and educational relationships across the Freshwater and local communities making it an established part of the fabric of the region.

Albert Hall caters for children from 6 months to 6 years
We are open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Albert Hall is an accredited centre under the Federal Government’s Childcare Subsidy scheme.
We are open 52 weeks a year, only closing on Public Holidays.
Healthy, nutritious meals are provided daily by our experienced cooks.

The Albert Hall building was built as St Peter’s Presbyterian Church in 1917.
Albert Hall Preschool was built and opened in September 1999 by a local family, retaining the original building and adding an extension and renovation.
Kathryn has been the director of Albert Hall since 1999. Kathryn purchased the centre in 2008 and remains the owner/director.
Having worked in the early childhood field for 20+ years, raised 2 children and now having two grandchildren, Kathryn has many years’ experience in the long day care setting from a family and educator’s perspective.
We have a low staff turnover and several of our educators have been here since the centre opened.
We pride ourselves on our welcoming family atmosphere and we value family involvement in the centre
At Albert Hall Preschool our program works within the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
This is Australia’s first national framework for early childhood educators. The aim of the framework is to extend and enrich children’s learning from birth to five years and through the transition to school.
It communicates these expectations through the following five Learning Outcomes:
We believe that the early childhood years are crucial and formative years. What takes place during these years plays an important part in the way a person feels about him or herself, the way that person relates to others, their capacity to solve problems and the way a person thinks and learns. We actively support scaffolding children’s learning and development through quality interactions with peers, parents and carers to gain an understanding of themselves, the world around them and their place in it.
We believe in and respect the unity of the community and the family. Not only do we aim to provide a “home away from home” within our own Albert Hall community, but also aim to create connections with the broader community.
We embrace the diversity that members of the Albert Hall community bring to the centre, the different beliefs, cultural backgrounds, languages, values and ideas.
We see the inclusion of indigenous Australian cultural perspectives as crucial for our children to develop a meaningful understanding and respect for our unique aboriginal history. Using current research and believing that play capitalises on children’s natural curiosity and exuberance, we have devised a program that celebrates the fact that each child is special and unique. We encourage children to be active participants in creating the program and routines, making choices, thinking independently, taking challenges, exploring and sharing ideas, asking questions and experiencing the benefits of learning through play.
We aim to instil healthy values in the children by providing a well balanced menu, opportunities for active play and exercise and a focus on emotional wellbeing.
